about

"If you know, then you know."
These are the words that Futuristica Music founder Simon S offered up as the perfect tease through social media posts in anticipation of this very release.

And if in fact you do know, then you'll greet this release with the excitement for the treasure that it is. The Electric Conversation legacy has become so intrinsically woven into the story of Futuristica's own that it's hard to imagine one existing without the other.

For band members, Oz, LaNote, As Valet and Gus La Temp, their Electric Conversation story begins - as all great stories do - in a Parisian record shop. They would soon find themselves bound together through their shared affection for a multitude of varying musical styles and with each member bringing something distinctive to the table, Electric Conversation would be defined by their unique sound that managed to hark back to a Golden Era just as much as it embraced the concept of forging its own unexplored path. The quartet would eventually score their big break while opening for Silhouette Brown in Paris in 2006 which afforded them the chance to meet Deborah Jordan - Silhouette Brown vocalist at the time - who, having heard their demo tape, enthusiastically opened the doors to Futuristica.

'Communication' found its release in 2007 through Futuristica Music as it entered its second year as an independent label.

In the years that followed the release of 'Communication' the foursome were each taken on very different paths - from burgeoning families, frictions within the group and the heartbreaking loss of band member Oz, it seemed that those very forces that once pulled them together as a unit were now pushing them apart. 'Communication' will forever stand as this glorious snapshot in time - a document of how things were at that point for its creators and the era it was created within.

And now, fifteen years after their debut release, 'The Lost Recordings' comes to us once again to mark that time of unity and serves as the chance to revisit that rare snapshot in time for four friends in a Parisian record store, with an unwavering passion for music and whose talents found a home as a single unit.

“If you know, then you know.”
